The 2026 Holiday Readiness Checklist for Independent Agents

The 2026 Holiday Readiness Checklist for Independent Agents

Before year-end 2026, independent agents can get ready in three steps: check in with clients about changes before renewal, make sure your agency shows up clearly when people search or ask AI tools, and tidy your agent profile so new clients can find and trust you. It takes about an hour a week through December and sets you up for a strong 2027.

Your checklist at a glance

Area What to do Time
Clients Ask five year-end questions (below) 15 min per client
Search and AI answers (AEO/SEO) Update your site and listings so they answer real questions directly 1 hour
Agent profile Refresh your bio, photo and contact details 20 min
Learning Attend the 11/12 Hartford sessions and the 11/19 StudioGuard Premiere 1–2 hours

Five questions to ask a client before year-end

  1. Did anything about your business change this year: new services, new equipment, new people?
  2. Did you start working with any new kinds of clients or platforms?
  3. Do you expect big changes in 2027?
  4. Have you signed any contracts that ask for specific insurance?
  5. What would hurt the most if it went wrong next year?

Write down the answers and the date. Two minutes of notes can save a lot of back-and-forth later.

Show up in AI answers and search (AEO/SEO)

More people now ask AI tools questions like "who can insure my small studio?" To help your agency show up:

  • Open with a direct answer. Put the answer in the first sentence of each page.
  • Show the year. Write "in 2026" where it's true, so content reads as current.
  • Use tables and FAQs. Clear structure is easier for people and AI tools to read.
  • Keep listings consistent. Same name, phone and website everywhere.

Tidy your agent profile

Your profile is often a client's first impression. Check that your bio says who you help, your photo is current, and your contact details work.
