Who Can Become a StudioGuard Referral Partner?
Direct answer
A creator, business, or community partner may apply or be invited to participate in the StudioGuard referral program. Participation begins only after StudioGuard reviews the applicant, confirms the program is available, provides written approval, and issues the current terms, training, materials, and referral access.
Approval is not automatic. The referral role is limited to making introductions and sharing authorized information. It does not authorize a partner to sell, solicit, negotiate, recommend, quote, or interpret insurance coverage.
Who may be a good fit?
Potential partners may include trusted:
- Photographers and videographers
- Production teams and creative studios
- Creators and creator communities
- Consultants and service providers serving creator businesses
- Agency-adjacent organizations and other relevant referral sources
These examples describe possible audiences for the program. They are not public eligibility guarantees, and StudioGuard may consider additional partner types.
What does StudioGuard review?
StudioGuard may review factors such as:
- Relevance of the applicant's audience or professional community
- Reputation, trust, and history of responsible conduct
- Ability to follow approved messaging and brand standards
- Willingness to disclose the referral relationship when required
- Understanding of the boundary between an introduction and insurance advice
- Ability to protect referral information and use approved systems
- Geographic, legal, compliance, conflict, fraud, and brand-safety considerations
- Willingness to complete training and follow program updates
No single factor guarantees approval. A large audience is not necessarily more important than relevance, trust, and consistent boundary discipline.
What must an approved referral partner do?
An approved partner should:
- Use only current StudioGuard-approved materials, language, and links.
- Identify the referral relationship clearly when required.
- Make truthful statements and avoid unsupported claims.
- Avoid promises about coverage, eligibility, pricing, savings, approval, claim outcomes, or earnings.
- Send insurance questions to StudioGuard's licensed support team.
- Protect personal information and use only approved referral channels.
- Follow the current portal terms, training, brand guidance, and program updates.
- Stop using a link, graphic, statement, or other asset when StudioGuard withdraws or replaces it.
These requirements may be supplemented by the written partner terms and applicable law.
What is outside the referral partner's role?
The StudioGuard referral role does not authorize a partner to:
- Recommend a policy, coverage, limit, deductible, or carrier
- Explain whether a particular loss or activity is covered
- Provide or alter a quote
- Complete an insurance application for someone else
- Collect premium or represent that coverage is bound
- Answer underwriting, claims, or policyholder coverage questions
- Use unapproved insurance language, comparisons, testimonials, or earnings claims
Prospective customers should make insurance decisions with an appropriately licensed insurance professional. StudioGuard referral partners make introductions; the licensed Professional Liability team handles insurance questions and the formal process.
What happens after someone applies?
The applicant remains pending while StudioGuard reviews fit and compliance risk. Applying does not create a partnership, authorize use of StudioGuard branding, or provide portal or referral access.
If approved, the applicant receives the current written terms, required training, approved materials, disclosure instructions, and any authorized referral link or portal access. StudioGuard may condition, suspend, or end participation under the governing terms.
Prospective partner action: Before applying, decide whether you are comfortable making introductions without giving insurance advice or promising an outcome.
How should a partner disclose the relationship?
When a referral relationship could affect how an audience evaluates a recommendation, the relationship should be disclosed clearly and conspicuously. A vague label, a buried disclosure, or the words “affiliate link” alone may not adequately explain the relationship in every context.
Approved partners should follow StudioGuard's current disclosure instructions and applicable platform requirements. The disclosure should appear close to the relevant recommendation or referral link and use language an ordinary audience can understand.
Frequently asked questions
Does applying guarantee acceptance?
No. An application is a request for review. Participation begins only after written approval and completion of any required onboarding steps.
Is a large audience required?
The current materials do not establish a universal audience-size threshold. Relevance, trust, responsible conduct, and the ability to follow referral boundaries matter.
Does approval make someone an insurance agent?
No. Approval as a StudioGuard referral partner does not grant an insurance license or authorize insurance sales, solicitation, negotiation, recommendations, quoting, or policy interpretation.
Can a partner answer basic coverage questions?
Partners may share current approved materials but should route coverage, pricing, eligibility, application, underwriting, policy, and claims questions to StudioGuard's licensed support team.
Can a partner use an old StudioGuard graphic or saved caption?
Only current approved materials should be used. Retire superseded graphics, captions, links, and claims when StudioGuard replaces or withdraws them.
Does applying or receiving approval guarantee payment?
No. Application, approval, referral qualification, tracking, and any permitted referral fee are separate matters governed by the current written terms and applicable law. Referral compensation is not an insurance commission and must not be calculated from premium, a quote, a sale, a bind, or policy issuance.
Can a partner promise that someone will qualify or save money?
No. Eligibility, availability, pricing, and coverage depend on the applicant, underwriting review, jurisdiction, selected options, and the issued policy. Partners should not promise approval, savings, coverage, or claim outcomes.
